Design Assistant users can now connect their Helioscope account to import C&I solar designs.
If you use Helioscope as a part of your workflow for designing commercial solar projects, you can now easily connect and import those designs directly into the IronRidge Design Assistant. This integration works for both Tilt Mount Systems and BX Ballasted System for Flat Roof solar projects.
Watch the walkthrough video below to see the Helioscope integration in action:
Synopsis
The tutorial above walks users through the step-by-step process of using the HelioScope integration with the IronRidge Design Assistant to streamline solar project design and generate an accurate bill of materials.
The video demonstrates how to properly set up a project in HelioScope—including creating roof planes (field segments), selecting fixed-tilt racking, adjusting module azimuth and tilt, configuring row spacing and module spacing, and entering correct surface heights—to ensure a smooth import into the IronRidge Design Assistant.
It also covers the specific requirements for Tilt Mount and BX Ballasted systems, including proper row spacing, 5° or 10° tilt settings, and drawing accurate north and south keep-outs to account for chassis overhang. After connecting accounts via HelioScope token authorization, users can import projects directly, verify panel counts, confirm obstructions, and finalize engineering inputs before generating a complete bill of materials (BOM).
This HelioScope-to-Design-Assistant workflow helps solar designers reduce manual rework, maintain accurate setback compliance, and efficiently move from layout to procurement-ready documentation.
